Among this year’s highlights is the debut of the Janus PV, a palm vein recognition smart lock co-developed by Duen Yih Metal Industrial Co., Ltd. (DANDY) and Himax Technologies, showcasing cutting-edge security and smart access applications.

The Janus PV is the latest addition to DANDY’s award-winning Janus smart lock series, known for its minimalist design aesthetics that have earned Red Dot and iF Design Awards. This advanced model supports a range of unlocking methods—including palm vein recognition, fingerprint, passcode, RFID, and mechanical key—offering both flexibility and high-level security.

What sets the Janus PV apart is its palm vein authentication technology, developed in collaboration with Himax. Compared to conventional palmprint or fingerprint systems, palm vein recognition offers superior anti-spoofing, reliability, and hygiene. It scans the unique vein patterns beneath the skin, enabling fast, contactless, and secure access, even in challenging conditions such as moisture, dirt, or low light. For users, this means a more intuitive, hygienic, and convenient way to unlock doors—ideal for residential, commercial, and high-security environments.
